Introduction to Ayurveda: The Science of Life

Part of 8-week foundations of Ayurveda course

Session 1 - 14/10/2026

Topics:

- What Ayurveda is (and isn't)

- History and philosophy of Ayurveda

- The Five Elements (Pancha Mahabhutas)

- Introduction to the Doshas

- Understanding the qualities (Gunas)

Practical: Observing the qualities (Gunas) in nature, food and ourselves through guided exercises.

This introductory course is designed for anyone who wants to understand Ayurveda in a practical, accessible and evidence-informed way.

Whether you are:

- a healthcare or wellness practitioner looking to broaden your perspective,

- a yoga teacher, therapist or coach wishing to integrate holistic principles into your work,

- or simply someone who wants to take their health into their own hands and better understand their body.

This course will provide a strong foundation in the timeless principles of Ayurveda.

Throughout the program you will learn how to understand your unique constitution, support digestion, make food and lifestyle choices that promote balance, and recognise early signs of imbalance before they develop into disease.

Each session combines essential theory with practical exercises, allowing you to immediately apply what you learn to yourself and your everyday life.

Rather than simply learning information, you will develop a new way of observing your body, understanding its signals and making informed health decisions through an Ayurvedic lens.
